In scenarios such as border and coastal defense control, forest fire early warning, transmission line inspection, and drone-based aerial reconnaissance, long-distance visual monitoring often encounters challenges including blurred long-range imaging, distorted images under adverse weather conditions, excessive system load, and cumbersome system integration. Leveraging years of experience in optical imaging R&D, Kemorei has launched the CM8240LE—a 40x integrated ultra-long zoom lens module equipped with a 4.53-megapixel imaging sensor. This module offers full focal length coverage from 15 to 600mm, combining a stable mechanical design with cutting-edge intelligent image algorithms. It breaks through the limitations of traditional telephoto surveillance equipment, providing an all-weather, lightweight imaging core for airborne devices, field-mounted gimbals, and long-distance observation systems. With its exceptional optical performance, environmental adaptability, integration advantages, and advanced front-end AI capabilities, this product redefines the standards for outdoor long-distance observation.

I. Precision optical system for ultra-clear capture of both near and distant scenes.
The Kaimorui CM8240LE is equipped with a 1/1.8-inch Sony Starvis progressive-scan CMOS sensor and features multiple aspherical optical lenses that significantly enhance light transmission and improve long-distance resolution, delivering image quality superior to conventional split-camera systems. Its 40x pure optical zoom covers an ultra-wide range from a 15mm wide-angle lens to an exceptionally long 600mm telephoto lens. At the wide-angle end, the camera boasts a horizontal field of view of 29.1°, enabling rapid, comprehensive scanning of extensive areas such as coastlines and forested regions. At the telephoto end, the field of view narrows down to just 0.74°. According to the EN 62676-4 DORI standard, this camera can detect targets at distances up to 8,324 meters, identify human and vehicle shapes at 1,664 meters, and capture detailed target characteristics at 832 meters—effectively addressing the longstanding challenge of insufficient clarity and recognition in long-distance surveillance applications.
The lens features an adaptive aperture ranging from F2.8 to F6.0, and in color mode, it can achieve a low-light sensitivity as low as 0.05 Lux. Paired with an ICR infrared filter for automatic day-and-night switching, along with advanced image-processing technologies including 2D/3D noise reduction, wide dynamic range, strong light suppression, and backlight compensation, this camera effortlessly handles challenging lighting conditions such as sunrise backlighting, shadows under trees, and glare from sea surfaces. Additionally, it is equipped with a 16x digital zoom as an auxiliary feature, supporting adaptive close-up focusing from 1 to 10 meters. The camera completes continuous zoom transitions from wide-angle to telephoto within just 6 seconds, and its stepper-motor-driven autofocus quickly locks onto targets, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted tracking without any focus loss or stuttering. This makes it ideal for dynamic monitoring scenarios such as drone-based patrols and real-time evidence collection using mobile pan-tilt units.
II. Multi-environment optimization technology—unafraid of complex field conditions.
External disturbances such as nearshore salt spray, temperature fluctuations in mountainous regions, air current turbulence, and morning fog or heat waves can easily cause image shake, blurred imaging, and equipment malfunctions in long-focus devices. The Kaimorui CM8240LE integrates four key technologies—temperature compensation, optical defogging, heat-wave elimination, and electronic image stabilization—that effectively mitigate image distortions caused by fog, thermal convection, and carrier vibrations. As a result, it delivers consistently stable and clear images even under challenging conditions such as high winds, ship-mounted installations, and airborne turbulence.
The movement’s operating temperature range is from -30℃ to +60℃, and its storage temperature can reach from -40℃ to +70℃. It operates reliably in environments with humidity levels ranging from 20% to 80% RH, easily handling severe cold, frost, sustained high temperatures, and high-humidity coastal conditions. The core components are equipped with a long-life stepper motor that supports up to 1 million operational cycles—far exceeding the durability of conventional motors—and significantly reduces maintenance and replacement costs in field applications. The device’s static power consumption is only 4W, with a peak power consumption of 9.5W. It features a wide DC9-12V input voltage range, making it compatible with both outdoor solar power systems and onboard low-power power supply systems, thus ensuring long-term, uninterrupted operation.

Traditional telephoto solutions rely on a combination of cameras and telephoto lenses, resulting in a system that’s nearly 50 cm long and weighs over 6 kg. Such systems place stringent demands on gimbal load capacity and installation space, significantly increasing the overall hardware costs of a project. In contrast, the Kaimorui CM8240LE features integrated factory calibration with pre-aligned coaxial precision—eliminating the need for additional focus components. Upon delivery, it’s ready for immediate integration and development, greatly shortening the overall integration cycle.
Body specifications: 320×109×109Hmm, compared to the split solution, the length has been reduced by 30%; the net weight is only 3.1 kg, a 50% reduction in weight, allowing a standard lightweight gimbal to handle it—thus cutting down on procurement costs for gimbals, tripods, and power supply equipment. The camera module supports dual video outputs via network and LVDS. The network stream can reach up to 2688×1520 at 30 fps, while the LVDS output delivers lossless 1080P images, balancing both backend platform storage and onboard real-time display needs. It’s compatible with common protocols including Onvif, GB28181, and VISCA, and features a TTL-standard communication interface, making it easy to integrate with various gimbals and onboard control systems. It supports local storage via a maximum 256G TF card, with bitrate ranging from 32 kbps to 16 Mbps, ensuring stable remote video transmission even under weak network conditions.
IV. Front-end embedded AI algorithms to build an unattended early-warning system.
The CM8240LE features a built-in embedded intelligent analysis module that relies on front-end hardware to independently perform smart recognition, eliminating the need for a back-end server and enabling round-the-clock unattended monitoring. Its basic functions include motion detection, video occlusion alerts, storage space warnings, and real-time push notifications of device abnormalities. The nine advanced intelligent behavior analysis functions cover tripwire detection, area intrusion, pedestrian loitering, abandoned object detection, rapid movement detection, illegal parking monitoring, and crowd gathering detection, making it suitable for applications such as border crossing prevention, wildland fire source patrols, industrial park security, and river debris monitoring.
