I. Ultra-long focal length imaging for in-depth detection of subtle lesions on the vessel wall.

Underground pipelines often extend dozens of meters deep. During inspection, robots must detect minute defects—such as cracks, corrosion, and joint leaks—over long distances, a task that ordinary short-focal-length lenses struggle to balance with adequate field of view and detail. The CM8230 is equipped with a 30× optical super-telephoto lens and delivers 2.3-megapixel high-definition imaging, enabling seamless switching between wide-angle, panoramic monitoring and long-range close-up capture in the pipeline’s narrow, confined spaces. While the robot is moving along the pipeline, wide-angle mode quickly scans the overall condition; upon identifying a suspicious area, it switches to telephoto mode to zoom in and precisely pinpoint subtle damage, cracks, settlement, or misalignment on the pipe wall—even from a distance. This eliminates the need for the robot to approach closely, reducing the risks of equipment getting stuck or colliding with the pipe and significantly boosting the efficiency of long-distance pipeline inspections.

II. Starlight-level low illumination, clear imaging even in complete darkness

Underground pipelines are completely enclosed environments with no natural light, relying solely on the robot’s built-in auxiliary illumination. This results in highly variable lighting conditions, often leading to severe image noise and loss of detail. The CM8230 delivers starlight-level low-light imaging, preserving rich tonal nuances even in dim conditions and reducing image noise. When the crawling robot ventures into deeply buried, heavily silted and fouled sections of the pipeline, its imaging engine continues to produce clean, crisp video footage—even with limited supplemental lighting—enabling inspectors to clearly identify surface blemishes, minute holes, and signs of aging or damage. By eliminating detection blind spots caused by poor lighting, it ensures stable, reliable imaging for round-the-clock underground inspection operations.

III. Intelligent defogging and dust suppression, eliminating interference from moisture and particulates inside the pipeline.

Water condensation inside pipelines evaporates to form fog, while suspended particulates persistently fill the air, easily causing images to appear washed out, reducing contrast, and obscuring pipeline defects—long-standing pain points in network inspection. The CM8230 features a built-in intelligent defogging algorithm that optimizes image processing for water‑mist and dusty conditions within pipelines, effectively mitigating the hazy appearance caused by fog and enhancing image contrast. When traversing highly humid, dust-laden pipe sections, the crawler robot can penetrate fog and particulates to reveal the true condition of the pipe walls, preventing defects from being masked by moisture and missed during inspection. This improves the accuracy of inspection reports and reduces the costs associated with repeated inspections.
